Just a few words for English-speaking visitors

The organ in St André le Bas was built in 1860 by Joseph Merklin in Lyon.
- The oldest instrument in Vienne is in St Maurice Cathedral -1841-
It was bought by the Parish St André in 1913 ; it was used for 50 years or so, and then forgotten, unfortunately ! The cost of it at that time was 10.500 francs...
It is made of 1 000 pipes and it does need repairing & saving.
" It is an instrument of exceptional technical & musical value" says Mr Michel Jurine, an organ-builder who started working on it last April. The works are very expensive,
so we cannot do everything necessary for the time being. Part of the organ has to be repaired in the craftsman's workshop.
We shall appreciate it if you are interested in it and if you can help us with 20 or 30 euros for one pipe ! That is called "Parrainage" ...
